Nike CPR Iron Wood, CPR Wood and Pro Combo Utility Irons
The Nike CPR Iron-Wood has a slightly smaller head size than their CPR Wood and is designed for people who prefer a low profile club.  The CPR Wood is designed for people who prefer a deep profile, larger sized club head.  Their Pro Combo Utility Iron is designed for better players and looks more like an iron than a wood.  The price for the Two CPR models isn’t bad either at $109.95 for steel, 129.95 for graphite and $149.95 for a UST iRoD™ Graphite shaft.  The Pro Combo Utility Iron comes only in a steel shaft and is priced at $159.95.

Introduction

Nike has gone all out in its quest to aggressively pursue the utility – hybrid golf club market.  They are the only manufacturer with three offerings and the only one to make their offerings correspond directly to the clubs you are trying to replace or add.  The CPR Iron Wood is designed more to replace your hard to hit long irons, the CPR Wood is designed more to replace your woods and the Pro Utility Iron is designed to replace long irons but the targeted market is low handicap golfers.  Nike has done a really great job at addressing the entire broad spectrum of golfing needs for utility – hybrid golf clubs.

Can I get steel shafts?

The answer is that you can get a steel shaft in all three models.  You can only get steel in their Pro Combo Utility Iron – no graphite.  The Pro Combo Utility Iron comes in Regular and Stiff flex models.  On the other hand in both the CPR clubs the steel is uniflex.  As I wrote elsewhere on this site, if you are picky about the flex on your shaft and you want steel, then don’t purchase their CPR series and buy from another manufacturer.  If you are like most of us and have a normal speed swing and you want a steel shaft then don’t let the “uniflex” bother you.  Go ahead and purchase it.  To order Nike products in steel click on this link: buy Iron Wood/Wood in steel buy Pro Combo in steel

Can I get A Graphite Shaft

In the CPR clubs only.  You can get either the CPR Graphite or the really outstanding (I have it in my woods) IROD Hybrid Graphite shafts.  The CPR graphite comes in lite, regular and still flexes and the IROD Hybrid comes in Regular, Stiff and X-Stiff flexes.

Models of the Nike utility – hybrid golf clubs
The CPR Iron-Wood has a compact head to look more like an iron while the CPR Wood has a larger head to resemble more of a fairway wood.  The Pro Utility Combo Iron looks like an iron except for the fatter back site similar to the new Cleveland LDI.

The CPR Iron-Wood comes in three lofts/models ranging from 18 degrees designed to replace your 2 or 3 iron (for most of us this would be replacing a five wood), a 21 degree designed to replace your 3 or 4 iron (really your three iron) and a 24 degree designed to replace your 4 or 5 iron (really your four iron).  The CPR Wood comes in four lofts/models.  The lofts/models are the 18 degrees designed to replace your 2 or 3 iron (five wood), 22 degrees designed to replace your 3 or 4 iron (use for three iron), 26 degrees designed to replace your 4 or 5 iron (use for four iron) and finally a 30 degree designed to replace your 5 or 6 iron (use for five iron).

The Pro Combo Utility Iron comes in three lofts/models ranging from an 18 degree designed to replace your 2 iron (use for two iron for better players), an 20 degree designed to replace your 3 iron (use for three iron for better players) and finally a 22 degree designed to replace your 4 iron (use for four iron for better players)  To order any of the three types of Nike utility – hybrid golf clubs click on this link: buy Nike Golf.
